To Val Baldwin, people matter most.
Val is very unique. The minute you meet her, you feel you know her and connect immediately. Her husband lovingly calls her the “human can-opener.” In a matter of minutes, you find yourself sharing things you never thought you would.
In fact, the first time she appeared on Portland TV, the executive producer told her she had a rare, transparent quality, being exactly the same person on or off camera. They loved her upbeat enthusiasm and spunky attitude and invited Val to be a regular on their show.
Educated in business and psychology, Val spent 23 years in the corporate world in marketing, customer service and training. She experienced first hand the difference in individuals who had effective people skills and those who didn’t.
Val soon developed a desire to help people gain these skills to improve their lives and relationships. She went back to school and became certified in Life and Relationship Coaching and set-up her private coaching practice to do just that.
As a professional speaker, Val combines her wealth of knowledge and techniques to help organizations boost people skills, build self-confidence, enhance communication and strengthen relationships. She has found her true passion in life and would love to share her expertise with your group.

On the personal side, Val has been happily married to her neuro-psychologist husband, Matt, for over 28 years and they have two beloved children. The most telling quote you’ll hear Val say is “After 28 years, my man still takes my breath away! I love this work and I feel it’s my mission to help people get the skills to make their lives and relationships remarkable”.
